About RestoreBolivar.com
Hurricane Ike left the communities of Gilchrist, Crystal Beach, Port Bolivar and many other communities along the Texas Gulf Coast in near or total ruin. After witnessing the devastation in our own community we set out on an effort to develop a comprehensive resource for information, restoration and improvement of the communities that comprise our beloved Bolivar Peninsula. There is a growing list of desperate citizens, business owners and concerned policy makers that seek official information about the effort to restore Bolivar Peninsula. After receiving an abundance of E-mails per day and more phone calls than we can handle with an already busy staff, we decided to launch this project to distribute critical and official information to dispel an atmosphere of second-hand knowledge, rumor and hearsay.

We must join together to ensure that Bolivar will be restored to not only it's former self, but a new and improved Bolivar for everyone. If you have seen photos of the destruction or witnessed the aftermath firsthand, you'll agree that this will not be an easy task.

In response to this crisis, we have formed 14 committees to address the important issues we must face to bring back our lives on Bolivar. The purpose of the committees is to keep all of the Bolivar Peninsula citizens and landowners from having to re-invent the wheel. We are gathering as much talent as we can from the property owners of the peninsula and assigning specific tasks to resolve existing and future problems. We will share solutions with the membership through this website and through periodic e-mail updates. You can trust that the information presented here is factual and verified.
